NEW generation Israeli built UAVs have entered service with the SLAF and are currently deployed in the northern theatre.
They've been spotted over the Jaffna peninsular and also may have played a role in yesterday's routing of LTTE forces off Vidattaltivu with significant losses. The fall of the Vidattaltivu base is a crucial blow to the LTTE's smuggling activities as it limits logistics to a narrow strip of approx 30 miles coastline, which does not provide many paved roadways from the beaches to transport any heavy articles such as arms and ammunition.
